# AI search

Ask ChatGPT, DeepSeek, Doubao and other AIs the questions buyers ask: how they describe you, who they recommend, and whether they cite your site.

Acquisition & optimization → AI search in the sidebar.

What it tells you

1. **How AI describes you**: once buyers know your company name, products or website, they ask AI to research and compare. If the AI gets you wrong, you can lose the customer.
2. **Who AI recommends**: when buyers who don't know you yet ask "which factory makes X", which sites the AI cites, and whether it cites yours (visibility).

Checks run from your computer, asking every AI you turned on at the same time, half a minute to over a minute per question, automatically every week, without the assistant.

Pick the AIs to check

At first no AI is turned on: click "Choose AIs to check" (or "Check settings" at the top right) and turn on the ones your buyers really use (overseas buyers mostly use ChatGPT, buyers in China use Doubao or DeepSeek); turn them on or off any time. Every AI you turn on is asked in each check, all at the same time.

- **Web** (ChatGPT web, DeepSeek, Doubao, Kimi, Yuanbao): asks on that website in your own Chrome, signed in as you are there, so you get the answer and sources buyers really see. Install the Annulo extension in Chrome first (Annulo Settings → Browser) and sign in to those sites. Turning one on asks it a test question: the first time, Chrome asks you to allow Annulo on that site; not signed in or no extension shows next to the switch with a way to fix it. Doubao needs a personal account (not the Doubao Work space).
- **ChatGPT (API)**: uses a provider and model set up in Annulo's Settings → Models with web search, no browser needed. The provider must support the OpenAI Responses API and web search: OpenAI itself, a compatible proxy, creght platform models (billed in AI credits), or the local Codex. Not exactly what buyers see on chatgpt.com.

Then click "Run check"; later it's "Re-run check". When it finishes, the card shows how many brand answers you haven't read and how many recommendation questions each AI cited you for; if an AI missed some questions, "Retry" next to it asks just those again.

1\. How AI describes you

- "Add brand questions from profile" generates the questions buyers ask once they know you (what the company does, which products, MOQ and certifications, the website…) from the company name, brand terms and products in Company & products, in the language of your key regions. You can "Add question" yourself too.
- After a check you get a table: one row per question, one column per AI. Each cell says whether you need to look: "New" is an answer you haven't read, "Read", and "Wrong" is one you marked wrong; a green dot means the answer cites your site.
- Open a row to see every AI's answer side by side, to compare how each describes you; opening it marks them read. Under each you can see what it searched and which URLs it cited. **You judge whether it's right**: the system doesn't know what's correct, and your data may be out of date.
- Questions about an answer? Under it click "Ask the assistant" and ask anything, such as "Why doesn't it cite our site?", "How do we get it to recommend us for this question?" or "This is wrong: …" (common questions are one click away). A new chat starts where the assistant looks into it with this answer, the pages it cited, how other AIs answered and your data; its conclusion shows under the answer. If you say it's wrong, the cell is marked Wrong. You can ask from an open cell in "Who AI recommends" too.

2\. Who AI recommends

- "Generate questions" has the assistant write questions buyers who don't know you would ask (without your company name); tick the ones to add to the library. "AI instructions" changes how it writes them.
- "Sites cited most in AI answers" combines every AI's answers, ranks sites by how many questions cite them, marks yours, and opens to show which pages.
- Below is another table: one row per question, one column per AI. ✓ means the answer cites your site, ◐ mentions you without a link, · neither, – not asked by that AI yet; ↑↓ is more or fewer than that AI's last check. Column headers show how many questions that AI cited you for in its latest check ( **visibility**; brand questions don't count). Click a cell to read that answer, what it searched and who it cited.
- Under each question: where your site ranks on Google for those words (with Google connected) and whether an article on your site answers it. Who gets cited depends largely on page quality and ranking, much like Google.
- "Mentioned without a link" also needs more content: the AI knows you but found no page to cite.
- "Turn uncited into topics" has the assistant turn the questions no AI cited you for into topics so articles answer them directly.

Each question can be edited, paused (no longer checked), resumed or deleted.

Check history

Each check has one row per AI; open it to see each question's result, then open one for the AI's full answer and every URL it cited. After you change content and publish, look again in a week or two; don't re-run the same day.
